The highlight is a gallery that focuses on modern American art from the 1950s and 1960s, which includes work by Ellsworth Kelly, Richard Diebenkorn and Robert Indiana. This relatively new art museum attracts wonderful traveling exhibits, so call if you are in town to see what is new at the museum. Guided tours are available for groups over 10 with two weeks notice. Admission: USD7 adults, USD5 seniors, students and kids.

Myriad Convention Center
URL: http://www.myriadevents.com/
More Details: This one million square-foot convention center is host to so many different kinds of events in the Oklahoma City area. Aside from being the home rink of the Blazers hockey team and the home arena of the Wranglers arena football team, this newly renovated center is the place to see great concerts, basketball tournaments and conventions. Plus there are brand-new banquet rooms for smaller meetings and events. The location—right in the heart of downtown and a short walk to Bricktown—is perfect.

Hefner Lake & Park
URL:
More Details: Considered one of Oklahoma City's favorite parks, Hefner is always full of people out and about. This place has it all. There are playgrounds, picnic tables, soccer and softball fields, a golf course, and a nine-mile jogging and biking trail. Most afternoons one can see kites or model airplanes flying high overhead. Often, visitors just stop by to watch the colorful sailboats cruise along in Lake Hefner, which is adjacent to the park. This is a great place to people-watch.

Coffee Creek Golf Course
URL:
More Details: This is one of the prettiest courses around. It is also one the more high-tech courses. There are computers in every golf cart, which are linked to a Global Positioning Satellite system. The GPS system will tell you precisely how far the cart is from the hole, how far you will have to hit the ball to get it over the water, and all sorts of other cool things you always wanted to know when on the course. Fees are $20 walking or $32.50 with a cart on weekdays, $25 walking or $37.50 with cart on weekends and holidays. Play after 4pm for $11.90 walking or $24.40 with cart. Seniors can walk for $15 or ride for $27.50 Mon-Thu.

Take a stroll—you will see the area's most famous rose gardens, and maybe even a frisky rabbit or squirrel. For more sporty activities, the park also contains a Frisbee-golf course and houses the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Tulsa International Airport
URL: http://www.ifly.com/ifly/tulsa-international-airport
More Details: With more than 25,000 Tulsans employed in the local aerospace industry, you'd expect Tulsa International Airport to be an exemplary airport - and for the most part it is. The airport is served by 10 major airlines like United, Southwest and Delta, and several charter airlines offering more than 3 million travelers each year over 80 daily departures including almost 20 nonstop flights. Nonstop flights to Chicago, Houston and Dallas-Ft.Worth have the most daily departures. The airport is medium-sized and relatively modern with two concourses extending from a central main terminal. It's located 10 minutes northeast of downtown Tulsa, Okla., making it a convenient gateway to Tulsa, a city with a unique blend of southern charm and western swagger.

Tulsa Performing Arts Center
URL: http://www.tulsapac.com/
More Details: Set in the heart of downtown Tulsa, this elegantly decorated facility is home to numerous local fine arts organizations, including the Tulsa Philharmonic, Tulsa Ballet, Tulsa Opera and American Theatre Company. Its four main venues enable it to host artistic productions ranging from orchestral and chamber music to dance and drama, and even film. Celebrity appearances are common here.

Fair Meadows Racing and Sports Bar
URL: http://www.fairmeadows.com/
More Details: At Fair Meadows, the ponies run year-round, thanks to three months of on-site live racing and simulcast contests from across the country. The property is upscale, featuring a sports bar with 14 big screens. Guests can also rent out one of nearly 200 carrels, which offer an executive-style chair and a personal television for race viewing. For larger parties, private rooms are available for rent as well, but arrive early; they are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission is USD2; carrel rental is USD3. Patrons must be 18 years or older to enter.

River Parks
URL:
More Details: Along the banks of the Arkansas River between the 11th Street Bridge and 81st Street, and along Riverside Drive, are the River Parks. A walking/biking trail stretches 10 miles from 11th Street to 101st Street along the east bank of the river. Scattered along the east bank are numerous picnic and recreation areas, decorated with murals and statues. On the west bank on South Jackson near downtown is River West Festival Park, a unique venue with an amphitheater and floating stage. For information on events, call the River Parks Authority at the number above.

Bricktown Canal
URL:
More Details: The Bricktown Canal is one of Oklahoma City's most popular tourist destination. Loosely modeled after San Antonio's River Walk, the canal is manmade and runs through the historic Bricktown district. There are restaurants and shops nearby and along the canal, but the real draw is the people watching. Come by after a Redhawks game, played in the nearby Bricktown Ballpark, or for one of the many happenings. Always festive, this is a great place just to hang out.
