GRAYS HARBOR, Washington Getaways
Grays Harbor is home to such delicious catch as Pacific Salmon, Tuna, Ling Cod, Sea Bass, Halibut, Walleye, Whiting, Grayling, Pacific Cod and Red Snapper. There's also Dungeness crab, oysters, prawns, and shrimp. Charter boats are available.

There are 27 miles of interconnecting freshwater lakes and canals offerring plenty of space for boaters, nature lovers, water skiers and fishermen. Perch, bass, and trout swim here too.

Dig under the sand and you'll find succulent Pacific razor clams. Daily limit is 15 clams per person during the season. Both north and south beaches are popular for clam digging. There are over 50 miles of digging areas. Low and minus tides are best for harvesting these tender little creatures.

Over 1,000 resort rooms dot Grays Harbor County beach fronts, many featuring fireplaces, indoor/outdoor pools and spas. So kick back, relax and listen to the waves, the wind and the gulls. Popular sea sports include open kayaking, surfing and Hobie Cat sailing.

Aberdeen in moorage for the stunning tall ship, Lady Washington, a faithful reproduction of Capt. Grays's vessel that plied these waters in the late 1700's. The ship is the flagship of the State and was built by local shipwrights. Aberdeen is also a bustling harbor. Look for ships flying flags from Russia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Turkey, Singapore, and Canada.

The Grays Harbor coastal waters are playground to the gray whale, and dozens of other species, including orcas, dolphins, porpoise, not to mention sea otters, sea lions, and seals. Whale watching by charter boat out of Westport is a must. Grays Harbor is the only deep-water port on the coast of Washington. It's a great place to drop anchor and stay awhile.

The Olympic National Forest is one of our nation's last surviving great forests and deep within its lush borders is the State's second largest temperate rain forest. Heavily draped in moss, it's nature at its primal best. You'll also find giant banana slugs, Roosevelt elk, majestic sword ferns, mushrooms and more.

Westport can handle pleasure boats up to 250 feet in length and offers over 687 moorage berths. Close by is the Maritime Museum filled with sailing lore and whaling memorabilia.
