More Details: This beautiful, park-like cemetery has been called the Westminster Abbey of Arkansas because of the number of notable Arkansans buried here. From state governors, to Confederate Generals, to newspaper editors, this cemetery is like a who's who of Arkansas history. The grave of David O. Dodd, a 17-year-old who was executed as a confererate spy, is one of the main attractions.

Lakewood Park

More Details: This spacious, green park is just across the street from the historic Old Mill. Play frisbee or volleyball, have a picnic or throw bread to the ducks in the pond. Note the unusual sculptures scattered throughout the park, which include a hollow tree-trunk shelter and a flower-basket planter. The sculptures were created around 1933 by Mexican artist Dionicio Rodriquez, who also created the wooden bridge at Old Mill, which is just across the street.

Past shows include Britney Spears, Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks and the Harlem Globetrotters. Come see the local indoor football team, the Arkansas Twisters, play here in the spring and summer, and do not miss the River Blades ice hockey team in the winter.
